Unique in the Overcurve's construction, especially given its price point, is its attention to detail regarding its fit. Fi'zi:k builds it using a staggered collar that wraps around the ankle, contouring to the natural asymmetry of the ankle’s two bony protrusions, the lateral and medial malleoli. It results in a slightly offset opening that’s more comfortable and holds the foot more securely in place as the shoe is better able to conform to the foot’s natural anatomy. The upper consists of Microtex, a material that we're quite familiar with as Fi'zi:k uses it elsewhere for its saddle coverings and its bar tape. It makes sense here too, as it's extremely supple for a comfortable and consistent fit, yet strong and durable for several seasons of everyday riding. Quickly and securely enveloping that upper across your feet is a micro-adjustable BOA IP1 dial up top and hook-and-loop closure at the forefoot. Down below, its R5 nylon composite outsole offers just enough flex to eliminate numb feet and hot spots on long rides but does so without compromising pedaling efficiency. It comes ready for 3-bolt cleats which should accommodate most road pedal systems on the market.
