The Danner USMC RAT Boot truly is an exceptional boot designed and made in America for some of the bravest, without sacrificing comfort, convenience, or quality. For superior abrasion- and scuff-resistance, full-grain nubuck leather combined with lightweight, breathable 1000 Denier nylon is used. This combination offers some of the best protection in cold and wet environments. The lining is 100% waterproof and breathable with GORE-TEX liners to ensure no water gets in while allowing sweat and moisture to get out. They also feature Thinsulate insulation for extra protection against the cold. These boots have an advanced lug design combined with Vibram's Dri-Ice compound to keep the outsole flexible and stable in extreme cold. The special speed lace system hardware allows you to tighten from toe to top with one swift tug for a secure, tight fit. These boots were also handcrafted to provide a wider platform, and their legendary stitch-down construction offers increased stability underfoot. Developed side by side with the United States Marine Corps, the RAT (Rugged All Terrain) earned its name among elite warfighters as the only proven USMC rugged all-terrain boot available.
